Gimpville is an award winning Norwegian VFX and animation studio. We have nine years of experience contributing to feature films, commercials, broadcast productions and channel identities. Gimpville consist of artists that have a broad set of skills within visual effects, animation, post production and visual communication.

About Us

Gimpville is an award winning Norwegian VFX and animation studio, with eight years beneath its wings. To present date the studio has worked on several feature films, and a large amount of commercials.

Gimpville started its journey back in 2002 with two people having a vision of contributing to the small almost non existing Norwegian VFX market, and making it grow. Today the company counts over a dosin fulltime employees and several freelancers.

In 2009 and 2010 Gimpville was awarded with a national “pioneering excellence” award - an award that is given to Norwegian companies which has shown outstanding business results within the last four years.

Gimpville is composed of both people with an artistic side and extensive technical skills which gives us a mix of people that can output the most beautiful and complex animation and vfx shots.


Production Pipeline

Our production pipeline consists of Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Motionbuilder, Autodesk Mudbox, Pixologic ZBrush, Side FX Houdini, The Foundry Nuke X, Eyeon Digital Fusion, Naturalpoint motion capture studio and Maxon Bodypaint. Our render pipeline is based around Mental Images Mental Ray For Maya and Side FX Mantra.
