Gimpville contributed several dynamic and visually ambitious sequences in Alienoid: The Return to the Future, a sci-fi action movie following the quest of a couple ancient Taoists as they leap through time in pursuit of a divine sword. Blending high-energy action with large-scale full CG environments, their work centers on the dramatic showdown between two enemies battling in, around, and on top of a moving train as ancient Taoists leap through time in pursuit of a divine sword.
The sequence culminates in a large-scale FX-simulated train crash, where the runaway locomotive plows through warehouses, tearing through structures and sending debris cascading in every direction. Gimpville’s work combines complex destruction simulations, richly textured environments, and precise timing to deliver one of the film’s most explosive and memorable action moments.
